Terms and Conditions for Finland Removals

Removal vehicle and packed boxes ready for an international moveThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which our Finland removals services are provided to customers in the UK and for international moves to or from Finland. By requesting a quotation, confirming a booking, or allowing us to begin work, you agree to be bound by these terms. They are designed to create a clear, fair agreement for both parties and to explain what can be expected throughout the moving process. For the purposes of this document, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean the service provider, and “you” means the customer, including any person acting on the customer’s behalf.

These terms apply to household removals, part-load transport, furniture movement, packing services, and related support services that may be requested as part of a Finland removal service. They should be read together with any written quotation, booking confirmation, inventory, and special instructions agreed before the move. If there is any inconsistency between these terms and a written service agreement signed by both parties, the signed agreement will take priority to the extent of that inconsistency. Booking a move indicates acceptance of the terms in force at the time of booking.

Customer reviewing a moving quotation and booking detailsWe aim to provide a professional and reliable Finland removals service, but all bookings are subject to availability, route access, vehicle capacity, and the suitability of the goods for transport. Where additional requirements arise during the move, such as waiting time, extra labour, access issues, or the need for specialist handling, we may revise the quotation or charge additional fees in accordance with these terms.

1. Booking Process

To arrange a booking, you must provide accurate details about the move, including the collection and delivery addresses, the size and nature of the items, the preferred dates, access conditions, and any special handling needs. A quotation is based on the information you supply and is subject to change if the details later prove incomplete or inaccurate. Once you accept a quotation, we may ask for a deposit or written confirmation before reserving the date. A booking becomes binding only when we confirm it in writing or by electronic message and, where applicable, when the required deposit has been received.

We reserve the right to decline or withdraw a quotation before acceptance, and we may refuse to carry out the service if the premises, goods, or circumstances present a risk to safety, compliance, or proper performance. Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have authority to arrange the move and that any landlord, building manager, customs authority, or third party permissions needed for access or loading have been obtained. For a Finland moving service, you must ensure that all items are lawful to transport and that any special declarations, permits, or documents required for travel are prepared in advance.

We will agree the date, service level, and expected timing as part of the booking. However, all times are estimates unless we specifically confirm otherwise in writing. Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, ferry schedules, border checks, loading difficulties, or events outside our control. If you request changes to the booking after confirmation, we may charge an amendment fee or revise the price to reflect altered arrangements.

2. Payments

Packed household goods prepared for transport on a removal serviceUnless otherwise stated in the quotation, payment terms will be set out on the invoice or booking confirmation. We may require a deposit to secure the date, with the balance due before loading, on completion, or within a stated period after invoicing. All charges must be paid in the currency specified and by the method agreed. Where card, bank transfer, or other payment fees apply, these may be passed on to you if disclosed in advance.

If payment is not made on time, we may suspend the service, withhold delivery, charge storage or late payment fees, or terminate the booking after giving reasonable notice where appropriate. You remain responsible for the full agreed price even if you are unavailable to receive the goods at the planned time, unless the delay is caused by our breach of contract. Any discounts, promotional rates, or special pricing apply only as stated and may be withdrawn if booking conditions are not met. All prices are subject to correction for obvious errors and may be adjusted where the actual scope of work differs from the original assumptions.

3. Cancellations and Changes

You may cancel a booking by giving written notice. Cancellation charges depend on how much notice is provided and on costs already incurred, such as vehicle allocation, staffing, ferry reservations, packing materials, or administrative time. If you cancel after we have begun preparations or on the day of the move, you may be charged a substantial proportion of the agreed price, and in some cases the full amount where costs cannot reasonably be recovered. A deposit may be non-refundable unless the quotation states otherwise.

We may cancel or postpone a booking where necessary for safety, legal compliance, operational disruption, or events beyond our reasonable control. This may include severe weather, vehicle breakdown, road closure, border delay, industrial action, or any circumstance making performance impracticable. If we cancel for reasons within our control, we will refund payments for work not carried out. If we must postpone, we will use reasonable efforts to arrange an alternative date, but we are not liable for losses arising from the change unless required by law.

If you are not ready for collection at the agreed time, or if access is not available, we may treat this as a late cancellation or failed attendance and charge accordingly. Rebooking is at our discretion and may be subject to availability and revised pricing. For a Finland removals company, schedule changes can have a significant impact on transport arrangements, so timely notice is essential.

4. Our Liability

We will exercise reasonable care and skill in performing the service. Our liability for loss or damage is limited to direct loss caused by our proven negligence, subject to the exclusions and limits set out in these terms and any applicable law. We are not responsible for loss or damage arising from pre-existing defects, inadequate packing by you, normal wear and tear, electrical or mechanical fault, depreciation, or the inherent nature of the item.

Boxes and furniture arranged for collection before transportWhere we pack goods, we will use reasonable care in doing so. However, if you have requested a self-pack service or have not instructed us to pack certain items, you remain responsible for their protection and suitability for transport. We are not liable for damage to fragile items, artwork, antiques, specialist equipment, or high-value goods unless these have been declared in advance, accepted by us in writing, and any additional packing or handling requirements have been followed. Items of extraordinary value should be insured separately.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, business interruption, emotional distress, or delay-related costs, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law. If any item is lost or damaged while in our custody, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible and provide evidence of the item, its condition, and its value. Claims must be made within a reasonable time and in any event within the period specified in the claim procedure or invoice documentation. Our total liability for any claim may be capped at the amount stated in the quotation or the minimum required by law, whichever is higher.

5. Customer Responsibilities

You must ensure that goods are properly prepared for removal, that drawers, cupboards, and appliances are emptied where necessary, and that items are safe to handle and transport. You are responsible for disconnecting services, securing loose parts, and informing us of any item that is hazardous, fragile, valuable, or subject to restrictions. You must not include prohibited or undeclared items in the load, including flammable substances, illegal goods, unsealed liquids, live animals, or anything that may pose a health, safety, or regulatory risk.

If you ask us to move goods that are incorrectly described, over the agreed weight or volume, or unsuitable for the planned vehicle or route, we may refuse to carry them or charge additional fees. You are responsible for ensuring that all access points are suitable and that parking, lifting arrangements, and building permissions are in place. Delays caused by restricted access, missing keys, incorrect addresses, or inaccurate instructions may result in waiting charges or a revised service fee. In a Finland removals arrangement, practical readiness is essential to avoid disruption to the schedule.

Customers must also retain copies of important documents, travel papers, and records of valuables. We recommend that you remove passports, cash, jewellery, medicines, and irreplaceable papers from the shipment. Where customs or border declarations are needed, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided unless we have expressly agreed in writing to prepare specified paperwork on your behalf.

We comply with applicable waste handling and disposal requirements and expect customers to do the same. Our service is a removal and transport service, not a general waste collection service, unless expressly agreed in writing. You must not ask us to dispose of waste, hazardous materials, or regulated items without prior arrangement and confirmation that such disposal is lawful and permitted under the service terms. Any items removed for disposal must be accurately described and may be subject to separate fees.

You remain responsible for ensuring that goods handed over for disposal are not subject to special controls. This includes, without limitation, asbestos-containing materials, chemicals, paint, batteries, gas cylinders, oils, contaminated materials, and other regulated substances. We may refuse to handle any material that, in our reasonable opinion, breaches waste regulations or creates a risk to staff, property, or the environment. If prohibited waste is discovered among your goods, we may stop work, isolate the item, or arrange lawful disposal at your expense, where permitted.

We may also require you to separate recyclable materials, reusable items, and waste in advance. Where the move involves clearing unwanted belongings, the parties should agree in writing what is to be transported, what is to be stored, and what is to be disposed of. Any failure to follow waste requirements may result in additional charges, delay, or termination of the service without refund for the affected portion of the work.

7. Delays, Storage, and Uncollected Goods

If delivery cannot be completed because of your delay, lack of access, or refusal to accept the goods, we may place items into storage at your risk and cost, subject to availability. Storage charges, handling fees, and redelivery fees may apply. You must pay all outstanding sums before release of the goods unless we agree otherwise in writing. If items remain uncollected or unpaid for after reasonable notice, we may exercise any legal rights available to recover costs, including sale or disposal where permitted by law and following proper notice procedures.

We are not responsible for deterioration caused by prolonged storage, unless that deterioration results from our negligence. You should inspect goods promptly upon delivery and report any apparent loss or damage without delay. Failure to do so may make it harder to investigate and resolve a claim. In the context of a Finland removal service, delays can affect onward transport plans, so you should keep us informed of any issue that might prevent handover or receipt.

Where storage is arranged, separate storage terms may apply in addition to these terms and conditions. If there is any conflict between the two, the storage terms will govern the storage period only, while these terms continue to apply to the removal and transport elements of the service.

8. Force Majeure

We are not in breach of contract and are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Such events may include fire, flood, storm, epidemic, pandemic, strike, civil unrest, government action, fuel shortage, road closure, ferry disruption, technical failure, or any similar event. If a force majeure event occurs, we will use reasonable efforts to resume performance or offer an alternative arrangement where practical. Any extra costs caused by the event may be charged where lawful and reasonable.

9. Governing Law

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the law of England and Wales, unless another law is required by mandatory consumer protection rules that cannot be excluded. The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable rights that may apply to you as a consumer. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

These terms are intended to support a clear, lawful, and practical framework for a Finland removals service. They protect the interests of both the customer and the service provider by setting out how bookings are made, how payments are handled, what happens if plans change, how liability is limited, and how waste and prohibited items are managed. By agreeing to these terms, both parties accept a professional standard of conduct and a straightforward process for the successful completion of the move.
